While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. ~Dorothea Lange

Lange's words challenge me to not only just see, but to truly view and experience the world in a new way. The broader vistas and the intimate, minute details alike offer opportunities for exploration, reflection, continual growth and understanding. As we begin to take the blinders away from our eyes we are presented with a world eager to be discovered and captured. While photographs represent solitary moments in time, it is in those fragments of a second that one can come to examine the diversity and the grandiose scale of human experience.

The notion of one's sense of place intrigues me and it is through my photographs that I seek to examine the role in which man can become a part of even the quietest landscape. A symbiotic relationship can be achieved between nature and man and it is a fascinating journey to discover. While there are those who seek nature and its beauties as an escape from what has become a fast paced, concrete encased life, there are those who also discover ways of finding such retreats without traveling great distances. I hope that my images individually and collectively become a part of a narrative which helps tell my own story and the story of those whom I encounter. I hope that my photographs offer you a glimpse into what my eyes have seen and where my feet have trekked and I would love to chat with you if you have any questions or creative advice that you could pass along! Cheers!
